Life without Microsoft Office onto a Mac OS X?

Is there any options to live without the Microsoft Office product line onto a Mac OS X these days? Yes, but with some common drawbacks like a non 100% Windows Enterprise integration or formatting issues! But nevertheless, here we go:

Word processor

Mount an ISO file in Mac OS X

If you got an ISO file and realize that there is no RIGHT-CLICK menu entry to mount that disk image, don’t feel ‘lost’, here is an easy way out:

Open the Terminal and type

hdiutil mount ./Desktop/image.iso

If you like/need to use your newly bought ‘Snow Leopard’ within an Exchange aka Windows environment, there are great news for you!!! Because when you or your Exchange Server Admin enables ‘Autodiscover’ onto the corporate Exchange Environment, MacOS X 10.6 connects smoothly to your corporate Mailbox. So Address Book, iCal and Mail provide you your corporate PIM data.

Windows Vista/XP onto an Apple MacBook Alu/Unibody

Currently I cannot suggest to run Windows Vista/XP onto an Apple MacBook because the missing PC keyboard layout and the not so well optimized Multi-Touch trackpad support under Windows Vista/XP stops you from working ‘efficient’. It ‘feels’, that the battery loose more/faster power under Windows Vista/XP too. So Mac OS X is the primary/host OS for me now. Maybe Apple wanted it so!?
